Second round kick off
The second round of the Interactive TV Award Developer Competition started with a workshop May 6 to May 7 in Darmstadt. The ten first-round winners won a valuable look at the technical landscape of T-Home Entertain and the Application Developer Kit, which Deutsche Telekom will provide to participants for the development of their prototypes. The developers are now fully armed for their task and can devote themselves to the second round.
Of pride and broadband
It might just be a preliminary victory but it’s a source of pride for the ten winners and is providing energy for the next round. All the participants now know what this initial win means: “It took twenty-four hours until we realized how big of an opportunity this is,” said one of the happy winners. “Shaping the future of television together with Deutsche Telekom – that’s something that takes a few to sink in.” Who will take the final, decisive step in shaping the future of television with Deutsche Telekom will be determined by the prototypes at the end of the second round. Sven Hischke, head of Innovation Management at Deutsche Telekom, reacted positively to the first workshop: “Television based on Internet Protocol offers an unbelievable potential – this was proven by the concepts. We’re excited how the ideas will blossom into prototypes.”
